Mail to Miranda Vissers - Netherlands
The card Miranda Vissers sent wasn't cancelled. So I could just add to it and return it with the same postage. Her title "Ademtochten" is altered slightly. No room for air I guess.

New Developments in Mail-Art
For Mail-Artists that are at it for a long time, they often wonder if there are new developements in Mail-Art. Internet has had it's influences. new players in Mail-ARt who discovered the network through websites and blogs. Social Networks that keep the spirit of Mail-Art alive. The postal rates went up the last decade, but still it is possible to send out a piece of Mail-Art.
So what is new? Is Mail-Art just a circle in which one finds the start, and than goes round as often as one likes. Some drop out of the circle, had enough of it. Some do repetition (the same concept over and over again). And some Mail-Artists make it a life-time job ceating, sending out, receiving, archiving, and trying to get the archive in a museum or collection.
Art and the world arround us is connected. So the themes one sees in our art reflects the times. People now advertise their URL's and e-mail addresses. They want more hits and attention. That hasn't changed over the decades Mail-Art is still alive and kicking.
