Overkill of information

Yes, there it happens again. When I look at the Bloggers that are popping up everywhere I notice that I tend to make a list of those 'privat diaries' of mail-artists. Whenever I get the chance I would like to 'scan' them all to see if there is something new to read and/or see. Did Michael publish a new piece of mail-art? Did Julie write about new fluxus bucks that came in? Did....... And the digital voyeur has to deal with an overkill of information again. This because the list of Blogs just grows too large. The time one has doesn't enlarge........

Natural selection is the result. I only follow the most interesting Blogs, or the persons I feel connected to, or think that they have to tell me something interesting.

Aha. It only happened so fast on this Internet. Normaly with snail-mail it takes months or years to be confronted with "too much" mail. On the Internet it cvan happen in just a week.

The nice thing about the statistics is that one can actually see if there are more digital voyeurs in the Blog-scene.........

Ruud, hello! You are so right about there being an overwhelming wealth of information. I love to read it all, see it all, participate in it all--but there is no way to do that because, as you said, time doesn't expand to embrace all the different things that come up. Sigh. So I do what I can and try to be content with that. I'm just sure I'm missing something fabulous, though!!!

It's true ofcourse but i like to visit each blog on my list at least once a week and stating to get choosy like you Ruud! Not enough hours in the day! My stats. tell me that I get between 40 and 80 visitors a day on average and my best day was 125 or so. It would be nice if they all left a message but then it would take me all day to read them and reply ofcourse! Such a dilemma and I owe so much snail mail too!

But these comments DO make these BLOGS a very interesting meeting place. A snail-mail anvelope would take about 3 days, a comment is published instantly... )even while I am in Germany right now)
