Statistics

More and more mail-artists start their BLOG. It is funny. The mail-art turns really into communication-art and all forms are integrating. The snail-mail and e-mails are comined in these personal BLOG's where others can leave their comments as well.

Because it is 'booming' buisiness, I am also interesting in how this development goes. Therefore - after searchib the structure of the BLOG- I added a statistical attachement to my blog so I can see who came, from where, and how many there were, etc.....

You can actually also access these statistics because they have a link at the bottom of my BLOG. Are there many visitors? I will have a look in the next weeks & months.....

I'm interested in the BLOG statistics Ruud. Is it easy to get them? I clicked on the link but I couldnt see where to sign up. does it cost anything?

Hi Michael, The basic is completely free. Just go to the main address of Nedstats. There you will find the details. You need to place the piece of HTML-code, that Nedstats sends you by e-mail, in the template of your Blog. Hope you succeed in that. The statistics are really fun. I have them on all (six) sites I have online.

The sites themselves aren't always for free. The domain-names and datatraffic some sites need aren't for free. But it is where I save on stamps.....

Great - this was so easy to do - far better than the other blog counter I tried which didnt work atall and was over complicated. I can reccomend this whole heartedly.

What are you two guys...salesmen?!!! You've talked this counter up so that I've gotta have one. As long as it can count to five I am probably covered.

Truly amazing the speed of communication via websites, blogs...etc. Thanks Ruud and Michael for another interesting aspect...the statistics counter! As much as digital art offers immediate gratification....there is nothing like receiving the genuine article in snail-mail. One can look(wonderful) or one can see & open (ecstasy). The painted envelopes you sent Jonathan (he's kept a folder of them!) are pieces of art in hand. Just lovely work, Ruud.

THanks for the nice words. My painted envelops have developed in the last years. They turned into series. Maybe I'll publish a recent one soon here in the BLOG.

That Folder Jonathan keeps. Is it a digital one? Jonathan's stamped envelopes are also in my archives. Somehow fascinating that each letter is stamped to form the address rather than just write it on the envelope.

Ruud, the envelopes are not digital, but they could be scanned then sent to you easily enough. Would you like that? (A selection, as it is a VERY big folder)

Hi Syl,

A few, which you would see as 'typical' works of me, would be welcome. I would use them in a documentation I am preparing for 2005. Especially the older ones I have't documented myself, so those will be surprises to me.

best wishes,

Ruud

Ruud, Scans of your envelopes sent to email address. Jon always stamps the address. Not meant to be brilliant...just his mark. Consider the influences on our work...When we absorb then take it beyond...there's the difference!

Hi Syl, the images came in in perfect condition and in perfect size. Thanks so much. They bwill become part of the complete envelopes documentation I am preparing on a DVD. Lots of things I sent out previously are sent out again in digital form.....
