Mail to Kat van Trollebol arrived.

mail from Ruud Janssen to Kat arrived - Netherlands

The online Mail-Art is fascinating. I sent an envelope to Tilburg and documented it on my blog. The content was not published. Now my mail has arrived and the receiver made among others this digital image of the content. A beautiful collage of what I sent. Hopefully she reads and uses the things too....

Publishing Visuals

Because I have been keeping this blog for some years now I have always experienced the difficulty of publishing visuals in it. I have used the programm Hello for that in the beginning, experimented with Flickr when things went wrong, and decided I didn't want to be depending on some free server to host my images. The solution?

I am now hosting the images in a special portfolio on the IUOMA-server. That way I have full control over the images. Enough space too. 1000 Mbyte should be enough for a few years.....

Circilaire 132 - Canada

To my surprise I received a copy of this handmade magazine called Circulaire 132. Insode all kind of original works from several wel knowm mail-artists.

Parastamp - Hungary

From Artpool in Hungary I received this beautiful catalogue about 40 years of Artistamps. It is very well done, includes historical samples and texts and has now joined the TAM-Archive (after reading offcourse).

Two booklets arrived - John Mountain

Two Mail-Art Modeling Kits booklets by John Mountain arrived some time ago. He asked me to especially menion the StickerDude from New York, who made the pblishing possible for him! In the booklets he has transformed some well-know mail-artists into artworks..... Nice job indeed.

Terry Reid - Australia

Terry Reid from Sydney, Australia, had a hard time trying to get this envelope to me. But guess what, it finally arrived here! It travelled the long distance from Australia to Tilburg, and then back. Then again from Australia to Breda..... A very valuable envelope. Now I have to think of something to send back......

New Card - Fluxus People

Here is a new acrylic painted card I produced yesterday. Theme: Fluxus People. It is part of a larger series which I will be sending out starting this week....

Mail from Geof Huth

Geof Huth (USA) sent me mail again. His typical cards I always recognize immediately. In return I sent him some painted cards.......

Mail-Art History

When people write about the history in mail-art, I always think of this image created by Guy Bleus (wellen, Belgium), that tells what happens:

Envelope for Kat van Trollebol - Tilburg

On the Mail-Art blogs I discovered that there is a relative new mail-artist in Tilburg. Kat van Trollebol. Her address is very near to where I used to live years ago before I moved to Breda. To send her some more details on what I am currently doing I prepared this envelope for you which will go out next week.

Yes, I started to paint a lot again. Also because it is summercacation. The acry paint is always fun to work with. Kat collects things with the theme BRULESQUE. So that is why those exra letters are on the enveloppe....

Mail-Art on YouTube

When you look on YouTube for mail-art you find some nice surprises as well.

(hint: click on the link:
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=mail-art&search=Search )

A sample video:

121 Mail Art Blogs

Just updated the link-list on my blog and counted 121 mail-art blogs (not counting my own, which I listed seperately). Seems like the mail-art worls slowly moved to the Internet and is documenting all the snail-mail in a digital way....

Besides posting your visuals, do'n forget to go throught the other blogs now and then....

Fluxus & Blogs

As some of you know I am also involved in Fluxus. After being part of http://fluxlist.blogspot.com I am now also part of the http://fluxlisteurope.blogspot.com . If you are also involved in Fluxus, have a look and take part in the discussions. For mail-art projects I created a new blog myself at: http://mailartprojects.blogspot.com . The advantage of the blog is that you can go through the list by the labels, and therefore could select specific projects. Also there are now several active mail-artists filling the blog, so that will grow quickly. If you want to be a contributor, just send me an e-mail, and I will add you to the list.

Back from Athens

During the month July I was in Athens (Greece), so that explains why there were no entries in the previous month. I collected my mail-art from the P.O. Box and will try to get started again.....
