What will this future be like? The postal rates here in the Netherlands have been increased again. Especially the mail abroad has become very expensice. The Internet has brought a cheap and fast communicationform for us. And the mobile phones also fill the need to communicate. Will the future generations write letters? Will they see the fun in playing with the traditional mail? In my work most of the communication also is done in electronic ways. The times are changing rapidly. Michael Lumb wrote his article: "Mail art is a DoDo". I posted it recently on: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/iuoma/ too. What do you think will happen to Mail-Art in a few years?

Hi Ruud,
haven't checked your blog for a while, lots of good stuff here!
I think that until the teleport is invented, mail art with continue to exist. Also, though people use email and similar more for everyday communication, the resulting rarity of actual letters makes them seem more special.
All the best!
P.S. I think that ebay may be saving the postal system from extinction! :)
